Menji, Cameroon, 30 December 2025 — The Menji Municipal Council has outlined an ambitious development plan for 2026, focusing on education, water supply, and social infrastructure to support returning residents and enhance living conditions.
Education at the Core
Council officials highlighted education as the cornerstone of the municipality’s growth strategy. Several primary schools will undergo rehabilitation to accommodate a rising number of children. “We want every child in Menji to learn under conditions comparable to their counterparts elsewhere in Cameroon,” the Lord Mayor said.
Water and Social Infrastructure
Water supply remains a pressing concern due to seasonal streams and erratic availability. The council plans to harness multiple water sources across communities, establishing a decentralized water supply system to ensure consistent access for residents.
Cultural and social infrastructure development is also a priority. Community halls will be rehabilitated to provide meeting spaces for returning citizens and local associations, promoting civic engagement and social cohesion.
A Forward-Looking Investment
Officials emphasized that the 2026 investment plan targets social, economic, and cultural development, aiming to improve living standards, strengthen community resilience, and support sustainable municipal growth.
